Prior to practicing law, she worked as a public school teacher in South Bronx, New York through the Teach for America/AmeriCorps program for several years.
Sis. Kimya Johnson is very active in the Philadelphia community and serves on a variety of boards and civic/community organizations. She is a frequent speaker, author and presenter on a variety of legal, diversity and/or ministry-related topics, and she is most actively involved in the Church’s women’s, music and youth-focused ministries. “Lady Johnson” considers herself blessed, but her proudest roles are that of wife to Pastor Johnson and mother to their three children: Miles Hasani, Laila Rae, and Lena Shani.
