Spreading the Word in the City − The Urban Theological Institute of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia present their annual Lecture and Worship Celebration. On Tuesday, September 23rd, UTI will celebrate their 34th anniversary. Pastor Johnson will be the feature lecturer at 11:15 am at The Brossman Center of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, located at 7301 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19119. He will also be the feature preacher at the 7:00 pm Evening Worship Service at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 2800 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150. Please plan to attend.

On Sunday, September 21, 2014 we will celebrate with Mt. Tabor Baptist Church for their annual Deacons and Deaconesses Anniversary Service. Mt. Tabor Baptist Church is located at 110 W. Rittenhouse St., Phila, PA 19144.  Dinner will be served at 1:30pm and the service will begin at 3:00pm.  Join us in a worshipful and celebratory time in the Lord!

Helping Others Pursue Education (H.O.P.E.) After School and Tutoring Program – Volunteers are needed to provide tutoring and to assist with the H.O.P.E. After School Program. The After School Program runs Tuesday through Thursday from 3:00pm - 5:30pm beginning on September 16th. We also need hall monitors and people to assist with providing snacks. If you have two or more hours a week to support this worthy cause, please contact Sis Shenneca Tilghman at shenneca.tilghman@gmail.com or call 215-232-6004 ext. 122. I am requesting that each ministry please solicit at least two members to support the After School Program. 

Teen Talk Tuesdays is held weekly in room 102 − FOR GOD SO LOVED FUN, FELLOWSHIP AND THE WORD. Teens ages 13-19 are welcomed and encouraged to attend.  Teen Talk combines Bible Study with tools of life. We review and discuss relevant scriptures to help our teens deal with issues like peer pressure, self control and obedience. 1 Timothy 4:11-12,“Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” −Deacon Margo Owen, Facilitator 

Men’s Day Committee − Come out and join us on Saturday, October 4, 2014 for an outing on the ocean deep in Greenport, NY. We will be fishing on the Peconic Star Fleet. Bright Hope Youth Church − Tots and Teen Loving Christ − Join Minister Justin Childs and Sis. Shenneca Tilghman on the First and Fourth Sundays of each month, in the MacFee Chapel for Youth Church. It is our goal to encourage and equip this generation to grow in their relationship with God. It is out of this relationship where personal identity and self worth are found.  This is where we hope that the young people of Bright Hope will find purpose and meaning, grow in character, and also in the knowledge and Christ. We hope to see you in Youth Church!

Bright Hope Nursery − VOLUNTEERS NEEDED − We are in dire need of volunteers. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to minister to our children. We need volunteers (men are welcome too) to help with the nursery during services.
