Rev. Dr. Darron D. Mckinney, Sr.

Dr. Darron McKinney Sr. is an accomplished pastor, community leader, organizer and activist, ministry consultant, faith-based developer and social/spiritual advocate who is often sought after to offer public testimony and commentary on matters of public policy and leadership.

With over 15 years of Pastoral Leadership, he has served at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and Macedonia Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. In October of 2017, Dr. McKinney joined the Bright Hope family as their 6th Pastor. Currently, he serves as the President/CEO of Bridge of Hope Community Development Corporation and Vice President of Bright Hope Non-Profit Development Corporation.

Dr. McKinney graduated, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Lane College, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Memphis Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degree in the area of Prophetic Preaching from United Theological Seminary. Seeing the pastoral work intricately interwoven to business Dr. McKinney enrolled in the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore. In May 2020, he completed the requirements of a Master of Business degree focusing on Public-Sector Management.

Because of his love for the academy, he has served as a Graduate Research Supervisor, offering peer and professional counsel to doctoral students. In 2014, he along with other colleagues developed a non-credit Community Building Strategies certificate program in partnership with the College of Public Affairs at the University of Baltimore. Dr. McKinney is a member of the 2013 class of the Board of Preachers of the Martin Luther King Jr. International College of Ministers and Laity of Morehouse College. Additionally, he is a board member for the PHL Diversity Advisory Board and New Spirit Behavioral Health Services; a member of the Community Partnership Advisory Council for The Arts and Quality of Life Research Center at Temple University; a Chaplain for the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office; and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

Dr. McKinney is in the process of completing his book, “A Prophetic Witness for the Marketplace.” He is married to Billiejo McKinney and they are the proud parents of Diamond, Darron Jr. and Brayden.
